Startled by the Babbling Chorus of the Grey-crowned Babblers

Glenwood, Qld – October 2020

It was a rather warm day at Glenwood, Qld, where I was doing a house/pet sit. I had finished my morning chores, and was about to sit and chill for a bit when I heard dogs barking, and then a strange racket outside.

I grabbed the camera and found lots of these birds around in the trees on scrummaging in the dead leaves. Thanks to my favourite FB bird group, someone identified them as Grey-crowned Babbler. They sure let you know when they are around.

I managed to get some more shots over the next few days. I found that they are very family orientated and stick together.

Kalbar, Qld – July 2021

And this morning, as I was walking the dog, I had my second spotting of the Grey-crowned Babbler. I managed to get a few okay shots. Taken in Kalbar, Qld – July 2021.
