B220 Grey-crowned Babbler

Find it in dry bushland and farmland with isolated trees.

Description:

This is very gregarious and funny bird. They are very social and move around in a family group. What a noise they make with their babbling chorus. The first time I heard it gave me such a shock.

My Sightings:

My first encounter with the Grey-crowned Babbler was near Gympie, Qld, in October 2020. It was about mid-day and I was inside and heard this raucous noise outside, so I quickly ran to investigate.

My next sighting was at Kalbar, Qld, in July 2021, as I was taking the dog for a morning walk. I was delighted to spot it again. However it was hard to get many good photos with the dog on lead.
